Newsletter: Mar 14, 2012

 Dear Members,

As many of you know one of my twin daughters (Christy was 34) died almost 5 years ago from Brain Cancer and we have been raising money for women's Charities ever since.  Christy's event will be May 3rd (Thursday) here in Columbus.  Some of you have asked how you can help and I want to direct you to her website http://www.inchristysshoes.com/ where you can read about what we are doing.  I really need your help!

This year I am adding a personal gift to you for helping.  For all members who purchase a ticket to the event, I will give you a Saturday Night May 12th PASS to the Princeton Club for you and your partner to enjoy.  I would love for 500 people to participate.  Make my year by donating to this wonderful Charity and get a FREE Saturday Night Pass from me personally.  Last year we raised over $33,000 for Charity and every single penny was used to help the Community.  There will be a Silent Auction as well so if you have a product or service that you would like to donate, please contact Katrina Levy Zidel 614-989-6995.

Now the fabulous NEWS...  Ryan Haber a famous Shoe Designer (Designed a Shoe for Carrie Underwood) is flying into Columbus with 46 pair of women's shoes for the event.  He is unbelievable.  Paris Hilton is signing and donating 2 Pair of shoes, Monica Day will be the Emcee of the Event, Andrea Cambern is donating a pair of signed Shoes... And you can be help us by donating a product or service, be a Contributing Sponsor and buying tickets to the event, and in the end get a FREE PASS to Princeton for May 12th for participating...

All the Food has been donated by the largest and smallest Restaurants in Central Ohio, all the Liquor and Wine has been donated, the 100 volunteers that will be models and servers, the Shoe Designers have donated their time and money to fly in for the event, The Hotels have provided free rooms, and of course we need you to help as well...

We want to raise $50,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, and the silent auction and it takes a lot of people to get to that kind of a gift for the Community.  So please get involved and help us reach our GOAL!!! And of course, I will be at the May 3rd Event and at the Club on Saturday May 12th welcoming you with your FREE PASS and personally thanking you for helping the Community.

Love and Kisses,

Event Background

In Christy's Shoes began in 2009 and was formed as an annual benefit in memory of a courageous woman, Christy Levy Peters. Christy lost her battle with terminal brain cancer at the age of 34 and left behind two beautiful children and a family that loved her. After the loss of such an amazing person, the need to carry on her giving personality and her legacy has been very important to us.

Community Benefit

The decision to join forces with the organization, Dress for Success, seemed fitting as it encompassed two of Christy's loves: her love for helping people and her love for shoes. Dress for Success is a non-profit group that benefits the community by assisting women getting back into the workforce. They provide women with resources, appropriate clothing, and a level of support that enables them to be successful. In years past, In Christy's Shoes has helped with shoe and clothing donations to the organization Dress for Success, but most importantly, has helped to raise awareness and funds for women participating in the Dress for Success program. The decision to partner with the Zusman House was an easy choice, as this was the place where Christy spent her final days in their excellent care.

Event Details

On May 3, 2012 we will again host an event that will ensure that Christy's memory lives on but, also that her wish to help others does too. The event will take place at Grange Insurance Audubon Center in Columbus, and will be held from 6:30-9:30pm. The evening will begin with testimonials of individuals who have been impacted by the organizations personally. There will be a fashion show of shoes provided by Ryan Haber (his work was recently seen at the CMA awards worn by Carrie Underwood). Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served from some of Columbus' finest restaurants along with a silent auction. The evening will be emceed by Monica Day of NBC4.

Get Involved

We are currently seeking your involvement and sponsorship with this event and are looking to make an greater impact in our community. There are different sponsorship levels available, and as a sponsor you or your affiliated Organization will be listed on signage at the event and on our website. Sponsors will also receive recognition for support on the Dress For Success website, www.DressForSuccess.org.

We are aiming for attendance this year to exceed 350 guests, and it is our wish that they will help us support "High Hopes in High Heels" with caring attitudes and generous spirits.
